I'm Roy Hermelin, an illustrator, painter, and visual developer based in New York City. Since 2014 I've worked in animation production — from character design and visual development through storyboarding, style frames, and background design.
My professional work is primarily digital, but I'm a devoted traditional painter: oil, gouache, plein air and alla-prima. I carry that sense of direct observation into every digital piece.
In recent years I've been drawn to AI video as an artistic medium — not as automation but as a new kind of cinematographic collaboration.
